Confed Cup 2013: Nigeria settle bonus row

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has settled row with senior national team, as it paid full match bonus to striking players.
The Super Eagles embarked on strike on Wednesday over a slash in their match bonus after playing a 1-1 draw in Namibia in a World Cup qualifier. The players then refused to leave their hotel in Namibia on Thursday and missed scheduled flights to Brazil for participation in the Confederation Cup
According to BBC Sport, the row was settled following the intervention of Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi.
"It's been resolved and we will land in Brazil by Sunday," BBC Sport quoted one of the players.
"The whole issue has been resolved and we can now concentrate on the Confederations Cup. We are now hoping that the government live up to their promises and pay us once we get to Brazil."
The NFF has now confirmed that the team will leave Namibia for South Africa on Saturday and fly to Brazil the same day ahead of their first match with Tahiti on Monday.

The African champions were angry over unpaid bonus promised them after they beat Kenya 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier last week.
The players wanted to be paid £6,370 ($10,000) but the cash-strapped NFF, which has been forced to cut back on backroom staff of the various national teams, refused.
The players had then been offered a bonus £1,590 ($2,500) following their 1-1 draw in Namibia in another World Cup qualifier on Wednesday, but the players wanted more.
Nigeria will play Tahiti on Monday Uruguay in Salvador on June 20 and then Spain in Fortaleza on June 23 at the Confederations Cup.
